When organisms live in conditions different from those needed to mantain chemistry in an aqueous environment, they are called extremophiles (this is a sometimes confusing definition, often paralleled to anthropocentric conditions : just think O2 destroys biomolecules, so even our species would be extremophilic !) and their enzymes extremozymes : if such a conditions differs from the ideal one in more than one parameter they are called polyextremophiles. Despite etymology, many organisms tolerate rather than love such environments, and only under certain conditions !
